Technology

I am a technology enthusiast. I am excited by new and emerging technology whether it is a new program or a piece of hardware I love to get my hands on it and start to see what it can do.  Recently I have been working more with LAMP development and have picked up a new hobby with Mobile devices.  I am always looking for new gadgets to get my hands on or new ways to implement technological solutions.

I believe strongly that collaboration can be enhanced by technology and that in most current implementations of tech, it is a hurdle rather than a unifying platform.

Motorcycle racing

I have been an active member of the offroad motorcycle racing community for the past 10 years. I have competed at a local, regional and national level. At the height of my career I carried over 30 corporate sponsors and was ranked top 5 in the expert class in New England.

Photography

In 2005 I started to play around with camera’s more.  After a few weeks of tinkering I decided that I wanted to more actively pursue my photography.  Many people have asked me what made me pick it up and my response is that it acts as a way to balance my life.  It is important in my opinion to never focus too much energy in one place and photography gives me the ability to use a different part of my brain and challenges me to see the world in a different light.

Scuba Diving

I have been scuba diving for the past 9 years.  In the near future I am looking to go for my dive master this upcoming summer and from there I can do anything.

Below are my certifications (PADI):

  • Currently I am studying for my DiveMaster Certification

Travel

Time permitting in my opinion there is very little better to do than to travel.  I love to get on a plan and see where I end up.  Whether it is a weekend getaway or a planned family vacation I set aside most of my spare time to seeing something new.  It is amazing all that you can learn.

Microsoft Office – Specifically Excel

Over the past few years I have spent numerous hours working on projects in PowerPoint, spreadsheets in Excel, database diagrams in Visio, database systems in Access and documents in Word. Recently in my Financial Modeling class, a class directed at creating dynamic financial models in excel I have learned how to hook Excel up to live content on the web and create overall powerful systems.

HTML and Web Programming

I am proficient in HTML and MySQL. I have had some limited experience with PHP. I am constantly expanding my knowledge base and looking to learn new things.
